Scranton, IA May 2, 2024 — New Way Trucks, the largest privately held refuse equipment manufacturer in North America, puts a spotlight on sustainable innovation and industry partnership at Waste Expo 2024. The annual convention and tradeshow takes place May 6-9 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV.

Visitors to Waste Expo this year will see where the future of sustainable refuse collection is headed in New Way booth #1341as the company and partner Hyzon unveil an innovation that will transform alternative power solutions for the waste and recycling industry. The company will also feature its top-selling ROTOPAC® Automated Side Loader equipped with New Way’s industry-leading frame-mounted Sidewinder arm. A third truck on display in the New Way booth – the Wolverine Automated Side Loader – showcases the side-loading versatility of a class 8 Sidewinder XTR™ in a smaller, under-CDL class 6 platform.

“Waste Expo will be a particularly exciting event for us this year as we showcase our proof of concept, alternative power refuse collection vehicle that will reshape the industry by offering customers a different and more sustainable zero-emissions option,” said Don Ross, Chief Sales Officer for New Way. “We’re also looking forward to displaying more of our cutting-edge product lineup throughout the show, supporting our industry partners and talking with customers about sales, parts and service support through our industry-leading distributor network.”

Customers can also learn about trucks in stock through New Way’s Work Ready Trucks program and rental opportunities through the company’s exclusive New Way FleetForce Rentals program. In addition, there will be information about New Way’s partnership with national purchasing cooperative Sourcewell and how to leverage the company’s Sourcewell contract on new trucks and parts sales.

Throughout the Waste Expo show hall, New Way is displaying four additional trucks including a 12-yard Wolverine Side Loader celebrating the company’s partnership with Rumpke and Bill Rumpke Jr.’s induction into the National Waste and Recycling Association’s Hall of Fame. Other trucks on display are a Sidewinder XTR™ for GFL in the Peterbilt booth, and two Diamondback Rear Loaders – one in the Waste Innovation Systems booth mounted on a RIZON electric chassis and the other featured as part of the Environmental Research and Education Foundation’s (EREF) charity auction at Waste Expo.

A longtime supporter and partner of EREF, New Way is again donating a rear loader from its Work Ready Trucks program to the annual charity auction taking place Wednesday, May 8. The 8-yard Diamondback Rear Loader is mounted on a 2024 Isuzu NRR chassis and comes equipped with a Perkins 6620 cart tipper and Safety Vision rear vision camera system. As part of the EREF Silent Auction, New Way also contributed two VIP passes to the company’s suite at the 2025 WM Phoenix Open. Last year, donations from New Way and other industry partners raised more than $3.5 million to support scholarships, industry research and other EREF programs.

“We are proud to support EREF’s mission to provide insight and develop solutions to manage municipal solid waste, as well as the scholarships they offer to future waste and sustainability professionals,” said New Way CEO and EREF Board Member Mike McLaughlin. “We hope to see a great crowd in the New Way booth at the show and at the EREF Live Auction on Wednesday afternoon.”
